Problem is, CHLs are state issued, so having one from TX doesn't mean nothin once you cross the state line...

Might want to check again. A TX CHL is good in many other states.

CHL or no CHL, protection in todays society is a must... I choose to live with the consequences of my actions protecting myself and family... I will say neither is worth losing over my materialistic things... sorry for the soapbox...

My wife has an aunt that live next to the reservoir. I'd stay off of hwy55. The Motel 6 this happened at is fairly close to the lake.

I'm going to apply for a chl, but CA has so much anti-gun factions it might be tough. I think we have a right, no matter what state laws try to stop like someone said earlier.

Prayer sent for that fisherman s family, what a waste. Makes us all mad as hell.

I can't vouch for Canton, but Jackson is advertised, scary. I stayed in Harlem for a week while in NYC a few years back and not one time did I feel like I was in danger like I did constantly in Jackson. And I had a car in Jackson, on foot in NY.

Prayers sent to the family. Anytime we are loading or unloading at a dimly lit ramp, checking gear in a dark parking lot, or even getting gas early in the morning or late at night we are targets. And unfortunately there are times where even carrying a gun may not help us.....they are criminals for a reason.

otay michael - My wife & I drove to Cali when we visited in August & (as always) I carry. Now once I reached the Cali border I have to separate my weapon from ammo because Cali doesn't have reciprocity with Tx. However, when I was in situations in Cali that were dangerous beyond the norm both the weapon & ammo were in close proximity to each other. You just can't afford to take chances these days. You will have a very difficult time getting & using your CHL in Cali that is for sure.

My Cali mother inlaw & her close friends are cradle to grave very active far left Democrats & I was called (more than once) a "vigilante Tx cowboy trying to relieve the old west" by her & her friends. That's their point of view & they're Americans as well so I didn't reply.

I've never pulled it, pointed it, or had to use it in any way & may GOD help me IF that were to EVER happen but I can tell you that my mother inlaw sleeps a lot better at night knowing her daughter & grand babies are protected.....she just won't bring herself to admit it.
