I haven't paddled one, but I met a guy at the recent GTG at Grapevine that was fishing out of one, and he said he really liked it. It seemed to paddle well enough, and carried him with no problem. He was probably 6' and 200 lbs.

Hi, I have been fishing one for about a year now. I'm 6'2'' and 200lbs. Fished the black bass hard up in Pennsylvania while I was living there on both the lakes and the Susquehanna River, and nowadays you can find me out on Cooper 2 or 3 times a week and on Fork Saturday or Sundays. I love mine. I do have a bit of Hobie envy just because the foot paddle system is sweet. However, the talon is a nice smooth paddle, and I have no problem getting around. I fish all day without getting sore. I really like the storage space in the front for extra things, I usually store rain gear and odds and ends that I won't mind rowing to the shore to get, and I did the youtube video(look up eagle talon 12 fishing crate) milk crate with pvc and fun noodle legs to hold it above the rear cargo area (standard crate doesn't quite fit). I really like the mod, it keeps the bottom area open of the rear storage open under the crate which I use to hold my life vest and what not. I got a small soft cooler and I put that behind my seat to hold food and drinks for the day. The rod holders are great, I've caught a lot of hybrids / sandies just by trolling from those holders while rowing to the next spot, and they've held up to the abuse just fine. As everyone else says, the front holder is a little far forward, but it really doesn't bother me. A lot of folks online say that they find the seat uncomfortable, but it hasn't bothered me so I haven't bothered to change it. Overall, I think it's a great kayak at a great price, and it not only gets you on the water but it gets the job done right.
