I haven't fished the Lynn Creek barge but have been told by some who have fished there that you mainly catch carp. The barge was moved to shallow water a few years back and hasn't been good for crappie since then.
As stated, this is second hand information from a friend of my wife who used to fish there several times a week.
The Park barge has been slow for crappie. One of the employees told me that they had not added new brush there for several years. We fished there a few years back and found you caught a lot of undersized crappie but few keepers.
We stopped fishing there two years ago when a rough crowd starting using the barge. But I have been told that is no longer the case and now families are fishing the barge.
However we have caught some nice large-mouth bass there when we did fish that barge.
I have a slip across from that barge now. We have been catching nice numbers of undersized crappie from our slip. So I don't understand why the barge would not be producing undersized crappie as well since only about 100 yards separate the two locations.
However last night we did not catch any crappie from our slip. We did catch large-mouth bass but no crappie nor catfish.

Been catchin limits in Lloyd Park timber Will have to give it a try this week. I have been fishing on the Cedar Park side and have not been catching limits of keepers. I have caught a lot of undersized fish but very few large enough to keep.

Lynn creek barge last year was pretty good. some good sized ones came out as well. I fish lynn creek 5-7 days a week with pretty good results. I have a slip out there now and have been catching 10-20 just about everytime i go. they are mostly taters still with the occasional keeper and the occasional 12-13 incher, bigger ones should be moving in soon.

I will give my wife's friend this news. She quit fishing the Lynn Creek barge about two years ago because all she caught were carp and catfish. She wanted crappie and the crappie were not there. They are retired so they were fishing it several times each week so this wasn't a one time occurrence for them. Before that they fished from a boat but his health prevented that so they sold the boat and started fishing from the barge. But we have not been catching keeper crappie from our slip at Joe Pool Marina nor have the people that fish from the fishing barge. Maybe they need to move to the Lynn Creek fishing barge now.
