I'm thinking about buying one of these if it can do water level off set. Is there some map card or 4.1 up date that will give me that option? I like lowrance but HB has me spoiled with this option on it when the lakemaster chip is installed.

Yes, you can do water offset with it. I have one with Navionics chip and it is there and works great.

OkieBob, You have a Hds gen1, and lets say the lake is 12' low, are you able to put in -12' and it changes the contours on your map accordingly? If so what verion and exactly what chip are you running?
Thanks,sideiron

I think he may be confused, the low level offset is for gen 2 graphs. Here's all it does, makes the low/missing water white. It won't change the numbers, you'll still have to do the math. In the pic below the lake was 22 ft low.

Still a huge improvement over "nothing". Was kayaking on Lewisville about 1.5 weeks ago, and the "hump" in Stewart's Creek Cove (that Navionics is off by about 4' on the depth on) was emergent from the water. Some brainiac had found scrap piping (some collapsed structure" and erected it on top of the hump (about 3ft long, 2" pipe with a 4" ibeam and other scrap welded to it, basically made a sharp jagged vertical point on the hump. I'm sure they were thinking "this will make it more visible so no one runs aground" (the hump was about 1ft out of the water at it's highest), but they clearly weren't thinking about when it rises 3ft and now this hunk of metal is sticking up just under the surface. Needless to say I beached the kayak and removed the offender to below the peak (so someone will see, and/or beach on, dirt, rather than metal). Please don't be helpful by putting metal anywhere in a lake people, if you want something at all, stick a piece of plain pvc pipe in the stump/ground and move on.

MY BAD, after my post above I went to the manual and I am wrong. What I was thinking about was 'keel offset and that isn't exactly the same thing and honestly I never even looked at the info from my Navionics chip changing as a result of using keel offset since I don't trust any chip when it comes to depth on any lake. So, I apologize for being wrong.
