I have a 170 it said transducer not ( something) so u replaced that little head on the back of boat and it still says the same thing , y'all know whats wrong or do I just need to buy a whole new unit ???

Transducer not connected could be connection or a bad transducer. Can you test on another HB Transducer to see if it works if so then just replace transducer.

I bought a new transducer did same thing , I read somewhere to take back cover off and check the internal connection pins,Boat at the lake so I have to wait till the weekend to look at it , doug thank you for the reply

I would caution opening the unit. I would contact HB Customer Service 800-633-1468 before opening the unit especially if under warranty.
