So I picked up this 4 inch XPS top water popper. Had a good minnow color to it and detail.

Well when it is sitting in the water it is real back heavy. I changed out the front treble with a bigger mustad and still sits same way.

I thought I saw somewhere that sitting at that butt down angle versus just being level or nose heavy was not good?

I have a similar real cheap popper that does not sit like that and appears it gets more bites?

Thoughts? Also do you guys like those white skirts that come on some of those poppers?

Most poppers will sit at more than a 45 degree angle with the tail down when still, the cam action when you pop the rod helps plop the water more. The only topwater lures I have that sit level are Spooks. And yes, I prefer a white feather treble on the back of most of my poppers.

My yellow magic sits level on the surface, and gets bit the most by far.

True, Ricos, YMs, Chug Bugs, Hula Poppers are the exception. And I'm sure there are a few more. . .
