I caught this dude this morning. I am pretty new to saltwater but so far I love it. I believe this is a mangrove snapper but might need someone to give me a positive ID on this guy. Also are they good to keep and if so what are the limits???? I caught him on a silver and blue rattle trap. Slow reeling bumping on bottom. mangrove snapper is what you caught. We do not keep them unless they are over 12" or bigger. We scale them and cook them whole. They have been pretty thick around south bay and the ship docks.
