This is an ask/tell thread...

I was curious if anyone has tried this bait tank...

http://www.baitjacuzzi.com/ (26 Gallon Variety)

I know the plumbing/pump in it is a downfall, but I'm ordering one after many emails with the owner, a phone call, and watching all the videos.

It is 400-450 dollars cheaper than the competitors and I believe there is SOME reason for that but in general those are out of my price range to an extent. I believe the bait jacuzzi will work for most fisherman to keep the bait alive 1-2 days at least. The filtering system is fairly basic, but I think it'll be effective and the tank itself is as quality as any other from what I can tell.

Any way, since I'm ordering it - I'll post a review in/after July here since that is when bait is harder to keep alive (At least for me) and let you all know if there is interest.

Also, anyone in the Lake Texoma area is more than welcome to PM me and arrange to see it. It'll be at least 2 weeks until I'm out but I'll happily show it to you, but it'll be awhile until I can form an opinion.

With all that said, this is NOT meant to bash/be negative towards the other bait tanks on the market. I feel this is a niche tank for some of us who may not have the budget or desire to spend the money on a tank that is 600-650ish dollars. If I did this for a living or had a bunch more disposable, I'd buy one of those tanks without thinking about. There are at least 2-3 upsides to them, but there is something to be said about a cheaper tank, that would work for most people.

Looks good. I would change out the filter to something similar to greylines. But it looks promising. Keep us updated.

peetur, when you say something similar to grayline, are you saying external to the unit or the actual filter? If replumbing the whole thing - I'd imagine it's better just to get a grayline.

fob bob, No problem. I feel lucky to have found it to be honest. BPS wants 450 for a much weaker one, with no insulation or filtration. I THINK it's going to be a no brainer, but won't know for sure until later.

Instead of using scotchbrite filter use stafil material greyline uses. But thats just an opinion how it would be better. Please let us know how it is the first day you get it. TIA

Oh yeah, I concur 100%. I am going to use one layer of that style with the stock filter below it. As it wears out I'll just use 2 layers of the stafil type. Yes, shamefully stolen from the way another competitor does it. laugh
