We were on Hubbard yesterday when the front hit. We continued to try to fish without a lot of luck. We were heading back to Robenson Point when I saw someone sitting high in the water waving their arms. When we got closer we could see 3 guys hanging onto a capsize boat. We managed to fish them out of the water to keep us from having a total loss.

They said "a wave washed over the back of the boat". Waves were very rough, high and close together. We were all glad that we were on a pontoon.

God Bless you Larry for being there to help those guys. Way to go. Hubbard can be very dangerous when the wind blows. You are a hero for saving them smile

What if Lavon had usable boat ramps. Would those guys be alive today?

Well if they were wearing their life vest they might do better. But I see what you are saying. Since Capt can't launch at Lavon he was at hubbard on the right day smile

Hi Larry- I know the feeling... Saved three guys a few years back and it made the paper and news. Like you I was at the right place at the right time. The guys I saved had just got the boat that day. It was in January and the wind was howling. Plus it was freezing cold out. Their boat completely sank and they were floating with only seat cushions! Something told me to go fishing that day when I really didn't want to go out. God had a plan for those guys you rescued and for those fellas I saved. There is no better feeling in the world.

Hope I can help someone if they are in that situation and hope someone is there for me if I have a bad day like that.

My prior deep-v boat would take some water on - I can't imagine some of the boats I see on the lakes that sit real low.

I ran from the dam to Chandlers about 30 min. after the front hit, there were very few boats on the lake and with the white caps, fog and rain it was a miracle you happened to see them. I'll bet they thought it was their time. Glad it all worked out.
