So I always see these Tiger or Fire crank baits when I am shopping for some tackle.

When do you throw this type of crank bait? Spring, Fall, Full moon? Is it emulating a craw fish even though it shaped like a bait fish?

Is it worth owning a a few?

Firetiger has been a forgot about color imo. I don't even buy them anymore. I found a 1.5 a while back and threw it and caught several fish with it. If anything it imitates a blugill to me since there are so many different species.try it around boat docks and rocks any time of the year in murky water. Then again I personally only throw shad patterns all year in all water colors. Confidence is key.

I have used em in clear and muddy water and they work... alot of the time when I am out trolling I will use an array of different patterns of the same lure, and it seems like some days the neon colors / fire tiger (whatever you wanna call em) work better than natural colors...

I have had especially good luck with those colors in crawdaddy crankbaits... I guess it may be because of the far out colors that can occur naturally in craws

I guess it just depends though on what the fish are hungry for...

I think they look like a bluegill to the bass. I won a tournament on a firetiger Bandit last year and beat the guy in second place by 4 pounds; best tourney I've ever had. Obviously, I have a lot of confidence in it now.

I still have a handfull of Bagleys Killer B1s, mostly in firetiger. The best shallow crank I've ever used.

I have caught a ton of fish on firetiger Bomber Model A.

In the spring or when the water in stained to murky. However, it's worth a try anytime.

If the water is murky, firetiger is hard to beat

Agreed. I usually like shad patterns, but firetiger whenever the water is really murky is an awesome color.

I like the color in dingy water too. It has always been a good one.

I'm not old. My bobbers just float a little lower than they used to.

When I said fire tiger I did not know it was a neon green color with black stripes. I assumed it was the the bright red colored crankbaits that I guess are supposed to resemble craws?

Picked up the green fire tiger at academy over the weekend, Threw it this morning around rip rap and points and nothing.

Oh I see. . .I use red craw pattern cranks year round in the shallows. Yes it's supposed to look like a crawdad. Usually work best when you can grind them into the bottom. For me they are especially deadly in the spring. Bomber makes my favorite craw pattern on a crank, Fat As are awesome - and cheap enough to throw in the thick stuff.
