No ....golden Alga kills thousands of fish at Lake Belton.....details at 10:00
That's bad news!
ZM is bad but I know first hand that GA will ruin fishing for many years and hurt the community around a lake for many years. What if Texoma had a fish kill like The Brazos and other lakes out west have had. 75 fishing guides out of work. There won't be any place other than Tawakoni for those guides if they would move.
What if Tawokoni had a GA fish kill and there were no fish to catch......no guides and no fishermen ......would Holiday Marina be finished off ? Oh yea because that's all they have.
Golden Alga is still the greatest threat to fishing in Texas.

I drove 80 miles this morning to my Belton boat shed. Installed new batteries in boat. Rewound a coupla reels. Filled the tank with gas. Loaded boat with fishin' stuff and eats. Pulled the boat outta the shed and drove about a hunnerd yards around the curve and down a hill to find the gate closed to Rogers Park with a sign on the gate sayin' it was closed due to government shutdown. Drove over to Temple Park and found similar sign on gate.

Do you think they keep those signs in storage so they can pull them out when the government shuts down, or did they have them freshly printed this week? How much of our money do you reckon it cost to have one made? A closed, locked gate would have been just as effective and cheaper.

At Rogers there's no attendant. Seems like they could just lock up the toilet so they wudden have to clean 'em and let folks launch their boats. Guess they're wantin' to make a point. I'm getting old I guess and got tired of cleaning fish seein's there's no one but me gonna do the chore. So I got me a new decal for the side of my boat canopy. 'Course I might still take a cat now and then and a green fish is always a mighty temptation.

Thanks TreeBass. I have been going to the lake a little more lately since I put together a new boat but looks like that's gonna be put on hold for whenever. Newer version of Clyde with a G3, the Clyde II. See ya on the lake if they let us back on before it dries up.

Intresting looking boat George. I really like the captins chair you have there. That thing would be awesome to close in the cab for running across the water on those cold winter days.

Thanks Big10. That is a fully reclining Corbeau heavy vinyl off-road jeep seat. I got a pair of 'em. I move the shad tank to the floor in front of the console and install the passenger seat in place of it when the need arises. There is a roll-down sun shade that goes all the way across the back that not only keeps you in the shade but knocks off some of the cold breeze. I have been pondering making a complete cover for the area under the canopy with a zippered front and clear vinyl front windows for those cold days on the water. I found that a jump suit and a full-faced motorcycle helmet keeps me pretty dang toasty for now.
