I was wondering if anyone could provide some suggestions. My brother flew in from Korea this past Monday night. He has been stationed in Korea for the past 14 months (which includes the time-frame when tensions between the U.S. & North Korea were high due to possible launching of Missiles by North Korea).
He is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and has been in 19 years (served 1 tour in Bosnia and 4 tours in Iraq & Afganistan).
I was hopeing to take him fishing while he is on 30 days of leave. However due to the lack of rain in the North Texas (Dallas/Ft.Worth area), a lot of the area lakes are either low and I cant launch my boat or the lakes are closed due to the government shut down.
Anyone have any suggestions as he commented to me that it was a shame we couldnt go fishing while he was home on leave.
Open for any suggestions in trying to give him the opportunity to fish before he leaves for Fort Drum, NY the end of October.
Thanks.

Joe Pool is open at both ramps.
Crappie, white bass, largemough bass, catfish. I have caught some nice largemough bass around the marina this month. Unless somebody else caught and kept them they are still there as we don't keep anything but crappie.
Lake is a few feet low but not enough to bother launching. However it will probably be windy this weekend, given what is happening in the Gulf.
The main lake was choppy around noon today but there are areas when you can get away from the wind.

Drive an hour or so to Cedar Creek or 2 hours to Palestine. Good crappie at either.

Sorry, tawakoni is closed.. No fish here..
May have to hit the trinity
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
