Have not driven one but I sure want one!! Problem is, my 07 is paid for and it will not give me a reason to go buy another one.
Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

Test drove one other day in a trim similar to my current Tundra (5.7 with 4wd), and honestly, for it being a ~ $40,000 truck, I wasn't exactly bowled over. I do have to say it is very smooth on steering. It doesn't feel like you're driving a truck at all. The interior is a bit more refined, and the cab is quieter than my doublecab 08. But, the truck has not blown me over by any means. The exterior is nice. Each trim level has its own style grill so that was interesting. The new angular front looks too much like a Honda Ridgeline now in my opinion. The engine and transmission are the same technology from prior years. My 08 5.7 puts out the same HP and torque so no improvements there. The mileage is so - so. Don't get me wrong I love Tundras, but the 2014 hasnt grown on me quite yet, although the 1794 edition is real purty! Ram is innovating like crazy and those new technologies have yet to be proven so I can understand what Toyota is doing in sticking to the "if it aint broke, don't fix it" philosophy. But....mine is an 08 and paid for, and it has been a super reliable truck so far. She has 71k miles and is going strong! I wont be jumping into another truck any time soon.

The 2014 Tundra is why I bought a 2013 Tundra. The drive train is the same as years past 381 hp and 401 torque and they come with 4:30 gears which contributes to the lower rating in mpg compared to other 1/2 ton manufacturers that run a 3:42 or 3:55 or 3:20 whatever ratio.....They pull great and the 6 speed tranny on my crewmax 4x4 gets me around 18 mph on the hwy and 9-9.5 mpg towing a 5700 - 6000 pound travel trailer. The 2014 looks from the side view like a hybrid Chevy/Ford pick up IMO.I did not want the 2014 because to me the 2014 trucks are starting to all look alike.

I've looked at both the '13 & '14, wishing I could buy one. I like the radio and standard backup camera on the '14. I hate that they changed the back seat in the '14, the '13 backseat is on tracks and could be moved forward and the back of the seat could be leaned back. On the '14, the backseat is no longer on tracks but the bottom seat folds up so you could put bigger items back there. Personally, I would rather have the backseat on tracks. As for the exterior, I much prefer the '13, maybe the '14 will grow on me.

Just got a 1794 a month ago and I love it. Not a huge fan of the backseat as mentioned above but that's about the only issue. Interior is awesome and the ride is unbelievable.

Well, since Santa got me a new center console for Christmas my wife said we needed a bigger truck (had a 2006 jeep liberty 4x4). Friday night I found some used '11 at a dealership that had my interest. Saturday morning the wife and I got in the car headed to the dealership and on our way we decided to stop at a closer dealership and look at the '14 again. It this point I'm not really convinced to buy a truck but the wife said "I plan on driving home with a new truck". Sure enough, we fell in love! Ended up with a '14, even though I'm not crazy about the backseat change. As the wife said, the kids are not going to be sliding the seat forward. I guess that's true ( they are 4yrs , 1.5yrs and a new one on the way). I do love the new radio and backup camera. We got the new one for $7000-8000 more than the used one. We thought it was worth the money for new plus more time for the warranty. I can't wait to pull the new boat with it!

My son bought a 14 in October and he gets around 15 with a 2 wheel drive, so if you are getting 18 out of a 4 wheel drive that is world class at least. Like he said it runs great, will outrun most any other pickup but you better find a gas station while doing it. Johnny

Johnny The 18 mpg came on hwy doing 60 mph....my normal driving habits keep it in the 15-16 mpg on hwy.....around town I dont want to know what the real mileage is...lol....stay out of the throttle and you will see 18 on hwy

2014 was the 7 year makeover and I was expecting something close to a 3/4 ton truck and it didn't happen. My 2011 pulled my 8000 lb trailer easily, but I wanted more payload so I traded it on a F250. I really enjoyed my 2011, it just wasn't enough truck and I wanted to option to upgrade to a 5th wheel.

Personally I like the 2014's much more than any of the previous models.
Also the truck hasn't had any under the hood changes in several years, but it doesn't really need any. It is still keeping up well with modern power. All keeping the same motor/trans combo is going to do is make it more reliable as they will work more and more bugs/flaws out as the years go, it will also make maintenance and replacement parts cheaper if they are all the same. I have no idea why GM ever got away from the small block 350's.

Have an 07 2wd with 194,000. Pull a 21 foot boat every other weekend and all summer and have done so ever since I got the truck. I got 16 mpg when I drove it off the lot and I get 16 mpg now. (10-12 towing)Anyone who tells you they are getting 18-20 mpg with the 5.7 is "yanking your chain". The starter went out before the factory battery did. The starter in early 2013 and the battery this past September. Those are the ONLY two items I have replaced other than the brakes, which are due to be replaced for the third time. I have had all the routine maintenance done like oil changes at 5K, tranny service and differential service. I just put my 4th set of Bridestone's on it last month so I am "committed" for another 60,000 or so. It simply will not give me a good reason to get rid of it. I have owned them all and this is by far, the single best vehicle I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Its also my very first Toyota. It will not be my last. That is one tough, durable truck. When I hit 300,000, hopefully I am headed to Sam Rayburn with boat in tow.
