Caught today along with a few other odd ones. A puffer and a long ribbonfish. Also caught some gafftop, croaker, whiting, good sized sand trout, specks early in the morning, a few small blacktips, bonnetheads, and some bull reds a few minutes ago.

Ive never seen a mangrove snapper on the pier before. Are they making a comeback in the area?

great report, i have seen other recent reports of mangrove in the surfside area, so it doesn't surprise me to hear they are at the pier, good stuff!

Happy fishing!

my daughter caught a small mangrove snapper this past weekend in Galveston Bay. We were in 4 ft of water, which I thought was strange.

A fish a day keeps the doctor away.

They are starting to become much more prolific. We have started seeing good numbers in Port Aransas the last couple of years, but this year we started getting some decent sized ones up to 15 inches.
