In the mid nineties TPWD stocked Yellow Perch in some community lakes up here. Don't think that worked out to well as I've never caught one.

over the years, TPWD has attempted MANY non-indigenous species,
dang-near all of 'em un-successful.
Nile perch
Tarpon-Fresh
Snook-Fresh
walleye
northern pike
yellow perch
blue tilapia
redfish

I have caught a few before at Lake Lewisville in the Westlake Park area throwing my cast net. I never knew what they were before today. Thanks

I thought Nile pearch grew to be 300lbs? Why on earth would they stock that in our fresh water?

They tried muskie too, also unsuccessful. I would consider the redfish stocking successful in several lakes such as calaveras.
