I worked with a guy "X" in '96-98 who I found out later had killed a guy in East Texas when he was around 17. "X" owed a local dealer some money and the dealer came to his home to "collect". "X" was waiting for him pretending to be working under his car in the garage. When the dealer pulled "X" from under the car, "X" let him have both barrels in the chest from a sawed off 12 ga. The story goes that the prosecutors and law enforcement went easy on "X" because they were kind of glad to be rid of the dealer and he feared for his life.

I never knew this the whole time I worked with "X". Gave him rides to work when his car was in the shop, worked side by side no problems. Eventually though "X" started with dope again and his work suffered and he just never came back to work. He was dodging the IRS too I later found out.

My brother killed his wife. It changed my life forever. My parents still grieve his choice.

It taught me a few things.

1). Never trust what you hear on the news, they don't tell what really happens
2). Don't be so quick to judge the killers family. My parents did it right and it still ended in tragedy.
3). these types of things affect more people than you can ever imagine.
4). You never quit asking why?
5). When the [censored] hits the fan you learn who your friends are.

I have been to see him in prison several times. What a waste on both accounts. I have seen some famous prisoners though.

I'm sorry for the junk your family has been through...

I'm glad you can look at the bright side.

I'm still going to bust your chops on here.

Went to school with a guy that tried to punk me out in front of his buddies. It didn't work. He killed my neighbor at Lake Lewisville a lil while after that. He always walked around singing "insane in the membrane".... He was a punk.

I coached Junior High football in Orange Park Florida back in the 90s. This kid (Patrick McWhite) was the biggest Junior High player I had ever seen. All us coaches thought for sure he would play College Ball and maybe one day pro ball with his size and speed.

He ended up getting involved in a Murder for hire deal with his older bro and another guy. The lady paid them to break in and kill the husband in Lake asbury fl. Making it look like just a break in gone wrong. I believe he was a senior or junior in high school when the murder took place. He was another case of stupidity over riding god given talent.

Really sad to read about it. The did a discovery channel show about it as we'll.

This is the DMN story on the guy I knew:

Pilot Found Guilty

Everything about this guy was a lie. He had fooled his wife, family, employers, everyone. Claimed to be a former Marine injured in Lebanon. He never served. His wife never knew he was a convicted felon. Certainly fooled me...

Went to school with a guy that got into selling weed on a large scale bases. On a deal gone bad he shot and killed a man . He either shot him or my old buddy would have died. He spent 13 years working for the warden and got out and killed his self 6 months later driving intoxicated.

There were two boys who were in most of my grade school classes who later murdered an employee at a gas station on the outskirts of Abilene several decades ago. It was pretty sad to remember them as young boys and realize they had committed a horrible crime.

long story try to make short.
I worked on a ambulance in a hill country town. We made a call to the state hosp. for a cardiac pt. he was in bad shape, heart rate 20-30. we kept him going on meds. on the way to the hosp. I wrecked the ambulance. The pt went down hill. once we got him to the Hosp. The Docs and staff worked there butts off and saved this guy.
Turned out he was sentenced to the state hosp. after raping and killing three 13 yr girls....

Three co-workers:
1 Best friend beat his wife and her friend to death with a dumbell.
2 Co-worker killed his girlfriend before cops killed him
3 Co- worker killed gang member after doing drugs and partying with him at his house.
4 I stopped to assist a couple stranded on Thanksgiving Day in 03. Dude ended up in our jail for Cap Murder. He's now on death row.
Growing up on rural La. I never thought I would see such violence around me. But hats the life of a LEO.
