I like Kayak Bassin, Beyond the Cast, Skeeter Bass Champs, Fishing Texas, Major League Fishing - I like shows that relate to what we fish, and if I can learn something new to try thats a bonus

Hook and look was cool. But I personally like honey hole. Bill does good by fishing our texas lakes. Even mountain creek that everyone has a problem with saying its too shallow and you can walk across it, 3 eyed fish etc.....

great point JT I would love an internet show, I would watch the commercials if they were about fishing products. The key to me staying on is education regardless of the size they are catching. Tell me why you went to that part of the lake, show me the graph then explain the situation, and why you pick bait A,B,C and when to change baits. I prefer non tourney shows over a tourney show anyday. I'm not awake at 4am unless i'm headed to the lake so i'm pretty much DVRing shows and fast forwarding though the commercials anyway. The internet shows I've watched make me watch the commercials so it seems like a win for the sponsors. Find a way to make it not seem like an infomercial, educate me on fishing with a little "this product might help" and I'm locked in!

During a fishing show . I want everything broken down to the simplest form. The show has to go into the greatest depth and detail. Also, I would like to know what other techniques might work on a given day and why. I also would like scientific break downs of the species being targeted. Including the surrounding habitat. I watch fishing shows to learn as much as I can. There can never be too much information.

I agree with you 100% here. Religious and political views have no place in a fishing show nor a fishing forum.
Religious and political viewpoints should not even be allowed in the signature blocks in fishing forums.
Frankly I don't want to hear or read about anybody's religious or political viewpoints when I am interested in learning about fishing techniques or what is happening on the lakes around me.
I don't really think that's up to you though. Everyone has their own personal preference as top what they do or do not want to see, the reason why there is more than one fishing show out there. You have the freedom OF religion, not the freedom from.

I have not sat down and watched any fishing shows since moving to the Dallas area 3 years ago. I have not even seen a Bill Dance show in the TV lineup. I watched them up in Cincinnatti and when living in Tenn but I have not been able to schedule time to watch fishing shows
Long time bass fisherman, in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, West by God Virginia,Minnesota,Indiana,Canada and now my new home state of Texas.

You have the freedom OF religion, not the freedom from. But it is up to me. I turn off shows that try to cram their religious viewpoints down the throats of the viewers. When it comes at the end of the show I move on, so the sponsor does not get that last attempt to sell me. I am religious myself but I don't try to cram my religion down the throats of everybody I meet. Nor do I allow others to do that to me. So I do have freedom from religion, as I tell the religious nuts to bug off. I tell my friends that I don't discuss religion nor politics. If they can't understand that then they are free to leave. Frankly, those who wear their religion or political viewpoint on their sleeves and must bring it into everything they do are insecure in their beliefs and are trying to convince themselves they are right more than they are trying to convince others.

I will chime in on this, much LESS bass fishing, LESS tournaments, more about the every day fisherman that fishes for stripers, catfish, crappie, etc. Most of us here are not the 'pros' with the free $$$ boats and all the advertising on their shirts, just everyday people and that's what I would like to see more of, like someone with a 16 yr old boat like mine not the latest $$$ that most can not afford or will never pay off. Possibly a show on setting up Sonar units, not just the latest but some older units that many of us use. A family trip for sand bass, farm ponds, saltwater party boat trips, etc. These things seem to not be shown or very seldom. I have said enough, just my thoughts.... I am not saying bass fishing is all that matters but you are responding in the bass section so its only natural to think we all would be bass centric here. On another note I don't get that idea that ALL fishing shows have to be educational and instructional. sometimes I just want to zone out and watch them. Just want to see the locales and the fish catches. I like Belize Outdoors because its that way. I don't always want or expect someone to take me by the hand and go -1-2-3- step by step to teach me something. You can learn a ton just by watching how they are retrieving the baits, the weather and conditions they are using them in and the secondary stuff you can see.

I don't watch these shows live. I record them and watch them late at night when I can not sleep. They are much better to watch than the late night TV shows.
