After a few years of working 7 days a week I have managed to get a normal schedule. Actually better than normal. I now work an alternating 3/4 day week and have some on-call weeks with up to 10 days off in a row. I should get to fish again pretty regularly again. To test the theory I spent a couple of days on grapevine testing my gear and making sure I had all that I need to camp/fish again. My reels could use a cleaning but overall it went well. I lost count of how many "grapevine-sized" fish I caught but I had a few teener commons, some small buffs and a new PB Blue Cat. I know that most of the "new" brigade doesn't remember me but I hope to get involved and start fishing with you guys again. Its a bit early for "Buffalo Season" but I'm going to try to spend 5 to 7 days at Emma targeting big buffs and Amur so maybe I'll see some of the Austin Crew soon. I'm off Sun-Tues and every other Wed if anyone wants to get together for a session in DFW or Austin.

Mark - good to see your back fishing again. Let me know any time you want to come down to Austin for some big buffs - WCC of Austin have a session on Decker this Sunday if you want to come down and join us.

Decker putting out 50's yet ? If the wife approves another kitchen pass so soon I was thinking I might hit Emma for a few days late next week. Maybe 10/6 to 10/9. I wish I could count on good internet access out there, I'm on call from the 9/29 to 10/9 so I should not have to work much if at all. But I have to be within 15 min of solid internet access.

I'd say both lake are producing good fish, right Keith?

Mark - if you come down 10/6-10/9 come over to Decker on the Monday for the day and we will catch some buffalo.

Two confirmed 50's from Decker in the last two weeks. a 39.15 and a 40 even from Emma this past weekend. Might not have cooled off enough for Emma's big girls to come out and play.

yeah I am still hoping to do a trip in November, just nice to have some actual time off to plan trips.

Man I work 14 days a month now, fish WILL be had! I got 7 days on-call only then 3 days off starting tomorrow. Now to con the wife into letting me move to Emma for 10 days.
