For me to be outdoors is a big part, be in nature, get my mind off of all other things and concentrate on the outdoors, better if you bring a friend to catch up with, the challenge...
But I have to make sure all my bases are covered first... bills paid, lawn mowed, etc...

Because of the possibility of the unknown.
There is a fishing quote that says something to the effect of the reason fishermen are obsessed is "because it's your imagination at the other end of your line", or something to that effect.
That was a poor explanation, but what I was simply trying to say it, you fish because every day you never know what will happen. That and because man loves a 1 on 1 battle, even if its with a 3lb fish.
