all bridges are no wake, they will write tickets if they see you.

the grda runs that and some other lakes up here, different rules/laws than a plain state lake.

huge shad population in gibson, backs of coves should be hot about now.
just north of taylor ferry launch on the east side are two large coves, backs of those, docks in there and secondary points have done well for me in the past.

Ft. Gibson: September 23. Elevation 3 ft. above normal, water 78 and clear. The new road along Hwy 51 around Taylors Ferry is under construction. Catfish good on cut bait and sunfish Carolina-rigged at 10-15 ft. on flats. White bass good on spoons and Kastmasters at 8-15 ft. Largemouth bass fair on Biffle bugs and plastic baits at 5-15 ft. Crappie fair on minnows around the docks. Report submitted by Rick Stafford in Wagoner.

Headed that way Tuesday. Thanks Hop for posting that about the road construction, should make it interesting with 200 boats trying in that area huh?

One other hazard, hopefully it's over by this time of the year, is the flying spoonbills. A 3' long 50 lb fish coming out of the water 3' can make for a bad day. No joke if you're running the lake you better be paying attention. Had a very close call last year, close enough the water from the fish knocked my sunglasses sideways and scared the you know what out of me. I was looking at the map, running up the river, and did not see it jump. Co angler said... "wow that was close, and it was BIG"... haha.

I fished it last Sunday. Caught several fish but no quality. Would have had around 12lbs on 5. Most were on small crankbaits in less than 5ft. Shad were everwhere.

Hazards on the lake are all pretty well marked unless you plan on running up the river, there are some shallow areas but they are all on the popular map cards.
Shad are stacked in every creek and cove right now, been catching numbers of small fish on DT-6s on points leading into those areas with shad.
If anybody have any questions about the lake or area shoot me a message my parents live there.

THE SPOONBILL ARE STILL JUMPING not as many as in the summer but you will see them, its like hitting a deer on the road, chances are you won't, there's nothing you can do to avoid it, just drive.

I left a lower unit on the main lake about 5 years ago. Underwater hazards are plentiful on that lake.
