I was wondering if yall think it would be a good idea to have a big sand bass tournament at Fork? We could treat it as any other limit tournament. Pay outs go to the heaviest bag and also the heaviest fish. On the second day there could be a big fish fry!

Thoughts?

I know most people dont want to bother with sand bass, but wave some money at them and they will come! Im not a TD but maybe someone will read this thread who is and come up with something.

I might be down for that. I would do a small side pot for biggest legal bass weighed in too though. Would probably draw a bigger/better crowd.

I think this is a great idea. They could pay places for heaviest 25 fish stringer (I think that's the limit) and also biggest fish.

Then have the fish fry or donate them to charity afterwards.

They already have one that lets you bring in 25 fish but you weigh your biggest 5

Several of us guides have discussed this all year and most are on board with it. It was mentioned to do just about like you had listed. Heavy Sack and Big fish and the fish fry to feed the hungry or lower income families. It would take some time to put this event together and make it happen so maybe next year mid summer would be the best time. It would help the lake in more ways than one.

Bass eat anything they can fit in their mouths, and sometimes they try to eat things bigger than their mouths. The bass in Fork love them some sandbass.
