Does anyone know what kind of boat they found? I have a friend I know was there and can't get ahold of him.

Was on the lake today and also a friend of the family of this young man. He was 29 years old and a huge fisherman. Divers found him today around 10am outside lick creek. He was a avid fisherman and him and his partner won the BLT a few years back. Heart goes out to the family durning this tough time. Such a tragic loss. Please pray for the family. They are great people and are a very close family. And thank you to all the wardens and fire rescue for their hard work.

Gabe left a wife and son behind. Can only imagine how hard this must be on her. She does have lots of family in the area so that is good. My thoughts and prayers are with her.

Partner and I were the ones that found his boat...We were fishing the Media championship this weekend and I noticed his boat drifting and looked like nobody was in it. Decided we needed to check on it. When I saw the life jacket with the kill switch still connected and the trolling motor down I knew it didn't look good.

Found his phone on the boat and got a hold of his friend who said he was pre fishing by himself for BLT. So we call the Police and I looked up his trail on his graph and saw where it looked like the boat started drifting. I drove his boat back up in that direction and threw his bouy out. They ended up finding him today 75 feet from the buoy. Wish I was looking his direction, could of seen him go in and might have been able to save the guy.

Feel terrible for his family and friends. I didn't know him but met with some of his family and his fishing partner. He sounded like a great guy, my heart goes out to them.

Wow man. That's the most incredible story I've ever read online. I feel for you brother. That's a tough deal all the way around. Obviously you handled it well for them to find him so close to the buoy. Prayers for you as well as his family.
