I really want to get on the water before the front and rain come through, but I wont be able to get on the lake till Saturday or Sunday, and have never had any luck catfishing after a cold front. Any tips, tricks, ideas?

Downsize your bait and hook size.

I am heading out today after work for the weekend here in Mo. Suppose to dip down in the mid 50's over night here this weekend. I am hoping to catch some fish.... So smaller hook and bait? Is this because the bigger fish won't be on the hunt?

Here in our area with some rain coming and temps not dropping very much I will be fishing all sizes of shad. Wouldn't rule out big baits with the fresh water coming in!!

Guess I should of made myself a little more clear. It depends a lot on the time of year and strength of the front. I dont think a weak front like we are expecting this weekend has near the effect as a front in Febuary. If I get a chance to fish this weekend il still be fishing about 50/50 big and small baits and let the fish tell me what they want.
