Think I'm finally gonna take a look at Cisco this afternoon, anybody have any info they can offer? Never been and haven't heard much about the lake even after a few posts in recent months, I figure ill at least hit docks and shallow timber but any other advice would be great, thanks

Old report but I only fished there once and its been a while. I believe the year was 1964 and I was 8. Caught only one bass, 8 3/4 lb while trolling a red and white diving plug with new rod and reel I purchased working (hoeing cotton)the previous summer. It was the biggest bass caught on the lake up to that day in the summer. Got my picture and story in newspaper and kick started my passion for fishing. Took almost 50 years to get a new personal best, earlier this year at Lake Palestine. Can't find the picture and article...it was pretty worn out from showing over the years. I don't remember much about where my dad had us fishing on the lake but there were a lot of yo yos with catfish eaten from the head down everywhere.

Lake should be in good shape, heard they caught 14' a couple of months ago. From the ramp go left around point and go south west up in the creek, should be a lot of willows to flip. There are some big fish in that old lake, good luck and let us know how you do.

I was there on Sunday and there were pods of bait fish out in the open water in 15 to 20 feet of water. I did not mark fish below them at the time, but then I did not see any action at all on the surface either. The only place I marked fish was on drop offs right before the all creek beds. Fish are still scattered around the lake.
There might be a thermocline at 30 feet but not sure about that. I am still trying to learn the dept finder picts.
If you have any luck, post up when you get back and let me know how you did.
I bet with weekend with a front coming in might help the fishing a lot.

Did manage to go out with a buddy this afternoon and we did come up disappointed. Fish seemed to be scattered and not very hungry. Managed to get a few hook sets in but it seemed almost as if fish were short striking or only faintly picking it up and running off. Saw multiple groups of bait fish but never plotted any fish around them. Water temp was around 86 degrees and very clear in many of the creeks. Haven't been on a lake in a month so it could have been just us but the day wasn't as planned, good luck to the next guys who go!
