Sunday night I caught a 23' bm bass fishing from my slip.
Tonight I caught a 23' bm bass fishing from a slip two slips down from my slip.
I'm wondering if it is the same fish since I have caught it in almost the same location. Will a bass that has been caught strike again so soon or do they wait a longer period before feeding again?

I remember reading an article about a study on that subject. The conclusion was that some bass are caught over and over while others are caught once or never. It was about 50/50 whether a fish was a repeat catchee or not, if I remember right.

I've caught the same bass within 5 minutes that had my hook still in its mouth on more than one occasion. Culled a fish with a big black mark on his head one time and turned around and caught him again on my 2nd pass down the bank.

I've caught a bass on a blue fleck worm, unhooked it and thrown it back in, only to have the same fish turn around and bite the same worm that was hanging about 6 inches down in the water, less than 5 seconds later. If they're hungry, they don't care.

I've caught the same fish a week later frok.the same.spot with the same bait. I know it was the same fish because it had a bad infection on its side. I've also seen a post on here about the same fork fish caught twice in one day the guy had a pic.

If you caught a 23' bass, I think you should be worrying about calling the world record folks instead of wondering if the same fish will bite again...HA!

That red hook with no line on it says your knot wasn't very good

Yea, I'm not sure what was going on that day. I had caught a few on it already and had not re-tied it.

Depends on the fish really, some are more aggressive than others. We had a fish named George that lived under the boat dock as a kid. You could catch George everyday on a minnow. It's no different than any animal though. Take two dogs from the same litter, one is docile one is aggressive.
Certainly the younger the fish is the more aggressive it is, or a fish that has never seen lures before, but you can have big fish that are over aggressive, they are generally underweight fish.

When you get old your eyes don't catch all your typo's. Had it been 23' instead of 23" it would have caught me instead of me catching it. As it was it was a fun fight. I caught it on a limber 5' rod that had 8 pound test on it that I use for bluegill and crappie. It had the rod bent double, with the rod tip under the water several times before I finally was able to land it. I expected to lose it both times as I was not rigged to catch something that big that fought that hard. Fortunately it was hooked both times in the top of it's mouth so the hook was well set and did not pull out as the fish fought. I am going to start taking my digital camera with me so if I catch it a third time I will have a record of it.

Depends on which lake. Some lakes in the glory day you could catch the same fish again next cast, other lakes you will have to wait years.
