I know we have all been counting down the days until this heat is over, and our favorite fish is coming over the sidewall at a break neck pace. Well the heat might have a few days left, but the crappie are on the move and already starting to feed up for their long winter haul. I had a group of 3 gentlemen this morning, we got on the water about 830 and were wetting a line by 845. I started the morning in 5-6 ft., and i didnt fish anything over 10 ft. all morning long. It seemed the best presentation was holding still for 30 secs or so and just alittle wiggle and then still again. I only had 1 fish thump it today, bite was just a light pickup on bait. We fished til 1230 and ended up with 40 keepers and prob 20 throwbacks. We fished jigs and minnows, the minnows probably caught the majority of the fish, but the jigs were the choice of the big fish. Everybody be safe out there with the lakes low, but don't let that stop ya from going fishing! Might be alittle more work, but its alot smaller barrel to shoot em in!

You got it going on there Chris. Those BP's must be loaded with yellow cats, y'all always seen to catch your fair share. Wonder how long a 3" live brim would last, if you jig fished him around those BP's?

BTW, Put it on Cody every chance you get, you guys are going to have a blast.

Congrats Chris, I guess our little scouting trip paid off. I can only imagine how they will be stacked on the piles after this cold front we're getting passes through and cools the water temp down.
