I took the wife and kids to Disney this past year, so now it's my turn. I'm looking for a weekend trip to fish and I would prefer a river, nothing against salt water it's just not my bag. Any suggestions are welcome, I live south of Dallas but if you folks don't know Disney is spendy especially for a family of five. So money isn't a deciding factor, I am thinking about bringing the wife but don't know how that will work out. So I need suggestions of where to go and any guide suggestions. My wife has no fishing experience so that could be a factor.

Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma. Stay in one of their cabins.

Driving distance isn't a requirement. We can fly. I would prefer to wade fish though, but that's only because I have never fished in a river from a boat.
How is beavers bend populated? I have always heard its shoulder to shoulder. Never been.
I also don't have a specific time frame, like I don't mind waiting for a perfect time at the right place.

Jerry is right! It hurts to say that. I have a long association with guides and now fish every month with Kevin of Hill Country Fly Fishers.
Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some go fishing and think about God.

Jerry, Call Jim Simpson and rent his cabin on the Little Mo. It's a well appointed gem of a place located on the "Meat Hole"... A number of folks that you know stay there on a regular basis... http://www.rivers-and-reefs.com/arkansas.htmKyle
