Went out early this morning for some pike on the fly. Got on the bike and the heavie wind winds didnt make the 20km ride easy but managable.
Met with a friend halfway and he did some spot searching with google maps the night before. So we took the route he had planned for today.
The top part of the lake is very clear and has some islands in it wich are connected with walk bridges.
And those bridges became hotspots afger my friend saw a pike lying there right next to the reeds, after two cast the meter long beast turned and hammered his jerkbait (yes he fishes with an baitcaster, but not for long). Unfortunately he got off before we could kand the fish.
Two bridges further there was a nice reed infested tight spot, again very clear, were i spotted another pike. I was amazed finding fish there since the lake is pretty big. A quick accurate cast (yes the minimag did an amazing job) and he shot at my own tied streamer, after a short fight he got off but was still very visable another cast and he attacked again and stayed on resulting in these pictures:

Rest of the day it was mostly casting practise.. All in all a good day and a good start of the season.

That's beautiful! Thanks for sharing the trip with us.

What other species of fish are in these lakes?

Thanks.

Mainly pike, perch, deeper in the lake pikeperch. Roach, rudd.
There are lots of shallower bays wich are connected to the main lake. Those hold some pikes to.

I think you mean pike? The larger ones are about 1meter and maybe some grandma's aroind 1m20cm. We express in length not in weight.
A fish from 80cm or just under 3feet is a nice fish here.
