I have not seen a boatlane out there that was 200yds wide. I would think fishing a boatlane during the McDonalds is just asking to get pissed off. Way too many boats zipping around to realistically think its gonna be easy to do. Main lake point out of Little Caney to the damn, thats like 2 miles. Nothing but deep water instead of taking a path around the people fishing there I guess its cool to run in between them? I ain't worried about being cool. I am staying close to the buoys when running. Shortcuts out there right now will get you hurt. Fish where you want but I just think fishing the boat lanes during the McDonalds is asking to have a bad time. Kinda self centered in a way to expect the other 1199 boats to swerve or go around you when you are in the boat lane. To each his own though. I figure I could find a fish or two somewhere else in the other 30,000 acres than a boat lane.

Good grief it isn't even friday yet and we've got veiled threats already? I think I'll just fish by the launch on the trolling motor before any of the pro wanna be's start chunking spoons at me for being within 100 yards of their hole  .

Good call - it's not only adults fishing this.. treat people like you would like to be treated and things will cool. +1 Its a FISHING tournament not a boat race or boat show. Respect the fisherman or young lady, not the big fast shiny boat.

Thanks Gents. She is excited and has been telling her friends about the fishing tournament she is in. I'm the guy who is launching the old boat early in the AM trying to avoid the mass push to get out at 5:30....please don't cuss me when I have to move the boat out of the boat ramp lane and my truck is on the ramp...my daughter does not need to hear that language. Here's another rule----
DO NOT FISH IN THE BOAT LANES.
And if fish within 30-40 yards of a boat lane, don't give me a dirty look when I come by you on plane. I will throw less of a wake on plane than if I slowed down. Some of the best spots are in the boat lanes, AND theres plenty of room to go around the fisherman not through them. If I am there and you have 200 yards to go around a group of boats your going to get more than a dirty look from me. Just sayin. My friend, I'm gonna run from one buoy to the next this weekend. If you are fishing in that path, you're gonna get rocked a little. Some of the best pavement to skateboard on is in the middle of the freeway. Would you go play out there? This. especially with as low as the lake is.
