If it gets you on the water, you are comfortable in it, and you can cstch fish from it then yeah its a good boat. Some people love em, some hate em. But that's true of jackson and wildy and hobie. Be careful adking for general opinions around here, and make sure you got your waders on when people start giving them. As for the ff, I love my humminbird 561 di, they make a model one step above that with gps and I think color for close to your price range. My advice, for what its worth, don't get caught in rigging till you've paddled it a few times. Get settled and decide where and how you want things before you go into all out rigging mode.

To add what he is saying about rigging, look at the gear track systems from Yak Attack (the plastic ones). They will allow you to move things if you don't like the original location.
Any boat that gets you there and back safely is a good boat.

Get a boat that fits your mission and your wallet.
I pack lite.. 2, maybe 3 rods, a small amount of tackle and a small cooler with some snacks/food and a first aid kit.
I got a 10 foot perception sport from Granger Mountain for 280 and that came with paddle and pfd. I installed my own rod holders and an anchor trolly and love it.
my butt is dry even though i usually splash or jump in anyway to stay cool.
Academy seems to be getting a lot of yak attack stuff in stock and austin canoe and kayak is good as well if you have one of those nearby

Once you decide to start rigging, Mariner sails is a one stop shop, and in my opinion the best kayak outfitter in the state. But everyone likes different places.

congrats on the new ride. search youtube for ideas on how to rig your yak also. lots of good ideas. learn how to use the fish finder to scrub the bottom and find structure most boats miss. thats an advantage we have traveling at 4 mph instead of warp speed we see everything. good luck out there and if ya see a red x-13 with too many fishing polesthats probably me.
MALIBUTEE X-13.
