Hey guys, I've had my pro angler for around 6 months. Addicted to the sport for sure. Wasn't sold on yak fishing at first, but since have landed some nice fish, and have been on some amazing lakes that I never would have dreamed of fishing. Forget a ranger, I'm keeping my pro angler forever!!!

Really just wanted some opinions from some kayak vets. When I'm not fishing I keep it on 2 PVC pipes 6" 10'... Is that good enough from keeping it from warping?

I've noticed a lot of scratches and scuffs starting to accumulate on the belly. Should I worry about it? Normal wear and tear? And If it gets a deep gouge is it fixable?

Any suggestions on good maintenance or storage I would appreciate

You may want to put 90 degree elbows on the loading end of your pipe, to cut down those scratches if you think that's where there coming from. One thing I'm very careful of is parking the pa or any kayak on waters edge, is not let the then stay to far out in the water while parked. the waves will beat it against the rocks or grind it into the ground as it sets there moving. just pick the front up and bring it more on shore until it stops moving.
Hope that helps, and a little repair tip for minor scratches. Use a heating gun to go over the scratches to blend them back to normal, but be very careful on how long you stay in one spot. Once you see the surface shine up, move off the spot and do not touch it.

I worry about the weight resting on the bottom so I transport and hang my Outback upside down from a ceiling hoist in the barn.

Hobie says to use 2 inch straps in their brochure. I use the narrow ones that came with the hoist and just throw some carpet pads between the two surfaces.

The hoist makes it so nice to load and unload. The only time I have to lift more than 1/4 of the yaks weight, is when loading at the lake.

If I were to store on PVC, I would put a smaller pipe inside so the larger pipe would roll and not scratch. I would also have my yak upside down so the weight is on the stronger top.

Still learning to kayak fish with my Hobie Outback.

I use 4" PVC so that it will flex and conform to the curvature of the hull
