The wife asked me this morning what I wanted to do for my birthday in October. We usually go camping in OK with our friends and our 3 God sons and have stayed in the same cabin for a few years which is an amazing place in Broken Bow. I thought it might be fun to change it up since we all love to fish by renting a lake front cabing on Fork. The trouble is that I don't have a boat sufficient enough to go out on Fork. I'm not really interested in a guided trip with all the other folks around. Maybe if it was just me and the wife but the other couple wouldn't be able to swing it. I have seen some places in East TX that offer bass trackers, etc. and wondered if there is anything similar available out there.

J and J Marine rents 15'-17' (40 HP) by the day/week...

I am unaware of the cabin/boat combo being offered anywhere on the lake, but would be interested in such a set up myself...

Awesome. I didn't even think about renting a boat.

You might try Ricky's Boat Rental, too. Its on 515, just a few more miles east of J&J.

Like Yellow Magic, I don't know about any cabin/boat deals.

515 cabins and Ricky' s boat rental. They are almost next door to each other. Ricky will put it on the dock for ya, used this a lot when I had no boat.

Rickys boat rental is centrally located and Popes has great new cabins with ample boat storage, flat screens and two full bathrooms that I've personally tested for quality standards. Also, ask Ricky about deviating from the standard 8am-6pm rental times on your first or final day and he will usually work with you.

Lake Fork Marina.

Get the Lone Star or the Texas lodge. Rent a 19 footer from J&J's marine right off 515.

We JUST did that for my birthday, last weekend. It was Perfect. I decided to pull the boat myself, as opposed to having them bring it to the lake.. that way I could trailer it anywhere if I so decided.

Lake Fork Marina was (as always) absolutely awesome. Awesome lodges/rooms/duplex.... they make you feel right at home the moment you pull into their lot until the second you leave.

Payton calls LFM "our lakehouse".. it dang sure feels like it!

Get a waterfront cabin at Popes, call Rickey's and have him put the boat in one of their nightly rental wet slips. He can have the boat in the water for you when you get there. Ricky is great and their waterfront cabins are by far the nicest on the lake!

I do NOT recommend Rickys at all. He was beyond rude with me when I was looking around for boat rentals. I just couldnt believe how unprofessional Ricky was. I dang sure updated him on customer service in hopes that he learned a little something from his conversation with me and possibly treated his next customer a bit better. Best of luck if going that route.

I ended up using J&J and was very happy with the choice. My husband loved the boat so that made whole experience even better.
