At work. I saw the towers burning on TV at a glance and thought I knew one of those high rises was going to Towering inferno one of these days.
It was not till 4:30 in the afternoon that I found out what happened.

I was in sitting in 8th grade geography class also. I remember all the power went out for about 20 minutes. We were all excited thinking we would get to go home early or something. About that time power returns and all the schools TV sets came on with the images from that morning. The scary thing for me is on July 11,2011 two months before to the day I was standing ontop of one of those towers on vacation. I visited the Towers, the Pentagon, and numerous other sites that week. I still have pictures taken off the very top of the WTC. I will never forget that week and that day.

My wife and daughter had spent the night at a friends farm house and were on our way to take one last look around our old house and turn keys over to real estate agent. I had accepted an assignment in Saudi Arabia and we were scheduled to fly over on the 14th. Needless to say that didn't happen until the 21st. Spent next 3 years in the sand. Never forget!!!!

daughter called and said dad turn on the TV a plane just hit a building in New York. Shock......

I was sitting in 11th grade Ag class when the teacher ran in the classroom and turned the TV on......we all watched in silence

Was in history class in 11th grade. Remember it so well. We just sat and watched it all day.

I was at work on the biggest project I've ever worked on. My wife called and told me a plane hit one of the World Trade Center towers. She called back and said another plane just hit the other tower. My first words were I wouldn't want to be slapping a goat on the a$$ with a stick in Afghanistan or some other middle eastern country tomorrow Because there fixin to have there world lit up. As it unfolded my concern shifted to the many people I know in NY.

1st period ag class 9th grade year in Krum talking about going dove hunting with my 4 friends phone rang and they told us what happen it really didnt set in till 2nd period when we saw it on tv no school work was done that day

You wanna talk about a bad day? I was in a dentist chair watching TV when the 2nd plane hit.

Was living in America.....being an American.

Throwing a buzzbait around the grass north of the 922 bridge in IDB on Ray Roberts, wandered why it seemed so calm that day. I didn't know until 3:00 that afternoon what had happened, cause I didn't have a cellphone or radio.
This year I'm in NYC in Manhattan visiting the Memorial an sightseeing around town. I've have had a knot in my throat for two days. God Bless the USA.

11th GRADE!! Good grief, I'M OLD!!

I was stationed in Aviano Air Base in Italy at the time and we were performing our semi-annual inspection on our munitions stockpile.

Our inventory quickly halted and transformed into a bomb build operation!

I was at Walmart DC in Temple, TX and was visiting buyers. As we walked through the breakroom, all the employees were gasping and watching the TV. We stopped just in time to watch the 2nd plane hit. Such a surreal, scary moment.
