i use one of the par 64, 1000 watt narrow beam lights. the best deal seems to be www.cheaplights.com (look up "fishing" on the site search). i only have one light for now but it is enough for the boy and i. i found the can on amazon cheap but bought the bulb from cheaplights. i mounted the light on the end of a galvanized fence rail that fits in one of my fishing pole holders. after searching CL for weeks, i found a generator on sale at one of the pawn shops. low hour craftsman 5600 watt running for 250.00 (told the wife we needed a generator for the house during storms. ha ha)

LOL I have a 3.5 million candle watt spotlight with a a 15ft extention cord ran thru 6ft pvc. I just Crank my truck up every once in awhile. I fish by my self alot so loading a generator is a pain in the @$$ literally.

....you can get by with one PAR 64 and one of those small Honda "suitcase" generators. For battery use I would recommend LED lighting.

isn't it illegal now in some places to use flood lights with a generator? heard that it was...not sure how legit that rumor is though.
one of my favorite times to fish is when there is no moon and use 2 sets of flood lights, 4 lights total, cast them into the surf and then let the bait fish come to the light. which in turn leads the predator fish in and killer fights.

if you find out where you read it then let us know. i avoid setting up next to houses and point my light down not to blind the passing ships.

I've spent the last hour searching the internet for some type of regulation about this. LCRA, TPWD, etc. with nothing saying no flood lights. I will continue to use them until a ranger says no more.
