There is a bond election coming up to approve some improvements to Bedford Boys Ranch. The plan includes dredging and reshaping the lake and channels. Even though fishing is tough there, I know me and several anglers have put some nice bass in there through the years. I know some guys have caught PBs in the lake near 8-9 pounds; albeit years ago. Is this plan a good thing for the bass and bass fishing? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'd be curious to hear from senko9S on this.

Yes. It can be restocked. Deeper is always better for a pond that size. Then you can sneak a few PVC brushpiles into it with a long rope (walk around to other side and pull the weighted brush pile in)

I too have caught some decent bass out of there. Hopefully they'll approve the improvements.

Now they just have to keep the "general public" from littering and leaving their trash so the water isn't full of stuff that's not supposed to be in there. It amazes me at how many lazy a$$ people bring stuff in for picnics, etc., but won't care enough about the surroundings to make sure they properly dispose of their waste.

Sorry for the rant. Obviously this is a widespread epidemic that is not isolated to parks like BBR.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts. I agree on people needing to keep it clean. The water is full of trash. I am going to vote in favor of the bond. I've been taking my 5 yr. old and 3 yr. old boys out there and teaching them how to fish; a better lake will be nice as they grow up.

@Mike Keenan - that is a good story. I haven't heard of days like that in a loooong time.

I am not sure of the size. It is a city pond, essentially.

Wish you couldn't take anything you caught. Now that would be nice!

Size wise, I would say 5-10 acres...I used to run the track around it too....Sometimes the eye candy helped to motivate me into running more.

Its been one of my favorite fishing holes for the past twenty five years, When US Sports was alive we used to have a 1 fish Big Bass tournament, fish had to be bigger than the existing fish and the fish got placed in that pond or the Hurst pond plenty of 6-8 pounds bass were stocked.
