 Twak SONAR Learning Trip with Salsa

I'll keep it short. Bought a 998 SI this spring after watching Littlejohn fill up the boat using his BIGBOY model. I tried and tried, watched Youtube, asked for help on settings and still just didn't get it. Finally cried uncle and took a training trip with Michael. Next day caught sandies until my 16 year old said "Enough, I'm not cleaning any more than that!" Now I can tell sandies from blues and shad. I understand the PROPER settings for the whole unit. As usual, kicking my hiney again for not doing it months ago! If you don't truly understand your unit and how to set it up properly AND read it, I highly recommend a Salsa learning trip!

WTG, the "other" Todd on Hubbard. I dont like fishing blind and no progress either. Hope to see you more out there now.

That's great Todd. I can remember taking a trip with Trent (Stripaholic) and him being a master of the Lowrance. He could tell you cats from scaled fish, etc. I was amazed.
I need to get a good set of graphs and do the same thing you did to learn how to use them. Of course I've been saying that for two years now. They are still so darn expensive.
Glad to hear you got it dialed in.

Todd, if you would have just had it out of demo mode you wouldn't have been in that pickle! j/k Good times w/ Laury and Sam too...glad the trip helped out. Sure looked like ya'll wacked'em saturday afternoon and sunday.  This is a great time of the year for Sonar 101 trips.

I certainly appreciate all the intuitive Nfo Trent Miller has pased on to me and the fishing gang from W'ford tx especially when viewing drum and wondering why the bite has fallen off
