Learned something new last night while night fishing on Ray Roberts. After failing to draw a decent school of shad with my lights I decided to switch gears and drift a couple areas that have paid off before. As I was getting setup I turned off the fish lights and just let the wind push me. In the dark and the silence I could now hear... something. It sounded like my trim to the motor was running but not as loud or maybe the aerator was on but not getting sufficient amperage. After checking all switches I put my ear to the deck. It was a definite whirring or buzzing. I could feel the vibration of it. I hung my head over the front the boat between the pontoons... OMG! There were millions of insects underneath the decking between the pontoons. I mean like actually millions. They're collective buzzing was what I'd been hearing. It was un-freaking believable. I couldn't see any aluminum above the waterline on the pontoons. It was solid bugs on top of bugs.

What kind of bugs? Did you get a picture? It would be interesting to see.

You was a floating bait bucket and didn't even know it. Fish like bugs.
