Found some fishing line on the prop last nite. Not sure how long it's been there. The line was not into the seals and only wrapped around the shaft. Does that mean I got lucky with no damage? How do you know if water got in or not?

if the rear seal has not been pushed out, it's probably just fine.
you can open the rear plate just a little to see if water comes out. just don't remove the two thru bolts all the way.
