I have two PP's on my Legend and I give them big credit on helping me catch shallow water fish that would normally be spooked by lots of troll motor noise and banging around in the stumps. I believe big fish are spooky like trophy deer and can be more easily caught if you are able to present your bait to them before they know you're there.
If you have never fished with them you may not realize the benefits but I would say they are a necessity for shallow water tournament fishing. If you are not a tournament fisherman and can afford them I would still recommend them highly because they make life so much easier.
Choice between the two? Go to the Powerpole video where they run one on the Airboat and decide for yourself.

I have Talon on my boat and really like it only complaint I have is the warning horn that comes on when you turn the ignition on with them down is not even close to being loud enough. I ran from Oak Ridge to Running Creek Bridge when I first got it with it down thing is I never hit anything.

Talons all the way. Easy on or off with no oil spills or bad seals. A Talon is like your garage door simple up/down motor with all electric motor that needs no oil and it just works. Both do a great job of holding you for sure. Since I have Talons, my question to myself one time on the water while in a bunch of stumps is my Talons go straight down and the PP go out and down. If in a thick bunch of stumps/timber how often would It be where the PP would hit a stump on the way down ? I think I have had a couple of places I would have had trouble deploying the PP where I had none on the Talons. Good Luck with your choice.

I have two Talons on my Skeeter 21i. They flat work. I installed them myself in an hour or two and they don't take up room in a compartment. I like that I can remove them both in less than 10 minutes. No gripes.

Imagine a similar situation except you're driving down the road and you accidentally deploy one. You'd never be able to tell until its too late.

I wish someone would get two exact boats, one with Talons and one with PP's and bring them to the lake on a windy day, see how each one handles different situations, that would probably make up folks mind on which unit they chose.

I use a talon. I like that I can lower it fast to get In the garage. That's actually a benifit for the power pole , not a talon. You have to get out of your vehicle to tilt it down etc. I just hit the remote while backing in.

I think for holding the boat in the wind they are most likely equal but the PP wins for Most User-Friendly product.

I have trouble with my consoles, fish finders and cowling gettin stuck on branches.
How bad are the poles at getting hooked on tree limbs?

Don't most people trim their motor down before backing in the garage.

They can actually keep your engine cowling from getting all scratched up from limbs. I have trouble with my consoles, fish finders and cowling gettin stuck on branches.

Good Topic!! Do you all think the Talons' will come down in price? They are EXPENSIVE right now. I guess for the PP because of the hydraulics involved I understand but, the Talon is all electric so shouldn't it be a lot less expensive? Ya'lls advice or thoughts please....
