I'm sure it has been discussed before but can y'all give me so pros and cons on both. I know powerpole is hydraulic and talon is electrical. I know the talon goes straight down. I have heard its hard to find people to work on power poles you have to ship them in. Suggestions?

Whichever someone has on their boat is the best. I've never owned Talons, so I'll tell you what I know about the PPs.

First off, they are not hard to get worked on at all. Tons of places install and service PPs. I'm about to get my fourth set and have only needed service on one pump, one time.

PP has amazing customer service, should you ever need it. I accidentally deployed mine while driving down the highway (don't keep the remote in your pocket) and ground the stakes down to about a foot. I called PP and they shipped me new stakes, overnight at no charge.

PPs deploy at a 45 degree angle to your big motor, giving you a wider stance when anchored.

PPs can be lowered either via a remote or a button on your boat, so you can back the rig into storage. Then raised back up once inside.

I had PP blades on my last boat and that's what I'm getting on the new one. You can double tap UP or DOWN on the remote and the poles deploy or retract twice as fast.

Only negative that I can think of with the blades is the pumps pull power off your cranking battery. You'll want to install a switch to turn the pumps off when not in use.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Everything Fouz said, I think they can program the poles to where they will not draw on your batteries now.

So does anyone know the benefits of a talon?

If you do not have space for the PP pumps the benefit to a Talon would be that you do not need pumps to operate them because they are a electric cable operated system

Electric; no leaks; no pumps; tilt bracket; can remove should you decide to; great customer service!

If being electric is an advantage I wonder why they don't make the trim and tilt electric on your motor ?

If you're a speed freak the talon looks like it would put a lot more drag on you boat than a new blade would. Not sure a talon would survive this test

No one is commenting on price for or against either one. Any particular reason?
Do most of you put on two or find one is sufficient?

New this fall Talon is available in 6, 8, 10 and 12 foot models. Also five colors: Red, Blue, Black, Silver/Black, Silver/White.

No pumps is a nice feature if room is at a premium.
New 10 and 12 foot models are no taller than the smaller units.
Easy install and removal.

Not a rep, just someone that is going with them myself.

One works great but I wish I had 2. I think they're similar in price. My PP has paid for itself in lures I'll go after instead of breaking off.

They both need to come up with some kind of forked spike so you don't have to buy 2 of those expensive toys!

I have two Talons on my Skeeter 21i. They flat work. I installed them myself in an hour or two and they don't take up room in a compartment. I like that I can remove them both in less than 10 minutes. No gripes.

Power Poles are from 995 to 1995.
Talons are from 1299 to 1449 for the 6 and 8 foot models. No pricing on the new 10 and 12 talons listed yet.

Everyone seems to say that once you have one of either you will want another pretty soon.
