Does it matter/ does it make a difference in your catching?
I have been seeing a lot of guys with line colors like red, or yellow, or even orange. does it help you see strikes better and can the fish even see it?
Thanks, Widg

I've have used the Trilene Solar Green and the Suffex Tangerine for crappie fishing. It did help me detect bites. Can't speak for the fish I caught, but if I were to guess I don't think they saw the line.
Bass fishing, clear and moss green Big Game is all I use now. tried the P-Line brand and didn't really care for it.

I do all my fishing from the bank. My three bass fishing reels (two baitcasters and one spinning) currently have Suffix Siege Tangerine or Trilene Sensation in Blaze Orange in either 12 or 14 pound weights. The fish don't seem to mind and I think the lines look really cool (the main reason I bought them in the first place) so I am not going to be changing anytime soon.
My ultralight spinning reel has 4-pound Stren Original in Clear/Blue Fluorescent, although when I swap it out next year I think I am going to change to 4-pound Berkley Nanofil in the High Visibility Chartreuse. I have heard the Nanofil is great for casting distance and I think it will come in handy casting the little lures on my ultralight rig.

I use 60lb yellow on my bank fishing rods, won't go back to green. I have used chartreuse on my smaller rods and no complaints either. If colored line scares you, use a clear mono leader. Being able to see what your line is doing is the best thing since roll toilet paper.

I think there's two questions here: is high-vis line worth it, and cant the fish see it? The answer to the first question in my opinion is yes - high vis line is worth it. When playing the fish you want to know where its heading and not having to struggle to see the line is a bonus. If you're still fishing it will help you pick up on those little tweaks and pulls and if night fishing its a huge help. Can the fish see it: you can google visible light underwater. You'll see that red is the first color to disappear underwater and blue is the last color. I personally like red lines and have compared them to green and in a strange way I think I've caught more fish on the red. Of course theres a ton of other variables. In most places you fish, probably any line with the exception of red will probably still reflect back its visible light. Then you have issues of water clarity, thickness of the line, etc. http://www.thedivingblog.com/colors-underwater/In most cases, I don't think line color matters much to a hungry fish.

Own personal experience I have never caught a fish on tinted lines. My theory is that if it is hard for you to see it will be hard for the bass also. Have tried red hooks with similar unsuccess rate.

I am the opposite. I have no idea if the Hi-Vis lines and red hooks work better, but I have caught as many fish using them as I have without using them. At worst they have no effect, at best they may be helping he out a little bit.
