 Minnow question

Been buying minnows and got tired of having to go get them so I though I would take a seine and try my luck on the boat ramp. I drag, and I must have had 6 doz. I guess they were shiners as they were very shiny silver, kinda slender, very active. Totally different than the minnows I buy. We were on Lake Belton fishing some tree tops in about 12-15 fow. Bite was way too slow. The lake is about the same level as august 2011 and we were catching lots of nice crappie in these same tree tops. Just wondering, would the minnows make a difference?

i dont think so. the minnows are the same the crappie eat all the time. i think maybe ya was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I think your talking about. Ghost. Minnows. And there my favorite. For Crappie. If I use minnows (I rarely Do)

Yeah, the pesky thangs are hard to figure out and all of the brush piles are sitting up on the bank.
