The wife has a seminar at Tenkiller lake this weekend, and I have decided to hook up the boat and go along and play. I've never even seen this lake, so any info would be greatly appreciated!

Smallies deep on a drop shot or shaky Greenpumpkin variations, LMs in the morning and evening on top. Have some fun if you get bored and go down below the damn, pig crappies until they discharge, give it an hour and then throw rainbow trout stick baits...epic striper bite.

very clear, very deep, very pretty lake as I recall. Haven't been on it in many many years. It's probably closed but there used to be a really good BBQ place in Tahlequah called Six killer BBQ. Its probably been closed for 30 yrs by now. The lake was originally named Six Killer for a short time then 4 more died when a scaffold collapsed building the dam and they changed the name to Ten Killer.

I lived in Muskogee for a couple of years with my job way back.

I may send my wife away on a girls weekend one of they days when it cools off and drag my boat from Rayburn and fish both Broken Bow and Ten Killer just for a change from Rayburn.

Thanks, Billy

It's fairly clear and rocky. If you can find brushpiles, that is your best bet this time of year. Great smallmouth lake too

It's been a pretty tough bite lately. Catching a few smallmouths early on small topwater baits around chicken creek and snake creek. After the sun get up idle around in 20ft of water and find brush, throw a big worm and let it soak in the brush.

Been going over there about every week since April. A few weeks ago was catching the smallies in 35-45 feet of water on points with rock and on ledges. With the cooler temps it should be pretty good, boat traffic sucks on the weekend though. Been catching a few decent smallies on a spook early in the morning and late evening right before dark. Best baits for me have been a drop shot with a red bug colored 4 inch Yum Mightee worm. Also a biffle bug, and a 3/4 oz football jig and carolina rig. Last time I was out there was a thermocline pretty deep and caught some nice spotted bass dropping a small jigging spoon in the schools around the thermocline at the creek mouths. The after dark night bite has been pretty good all summer for big smallies and largies. Been catching them in 20-30 feet of water on 45 degree main lake chunk rock banks with steep ledges nearby, and rock points. Best bait for me has been a PB&J or black and purple football jig, Craw Papi on a shakey head, or a black and purple or blue spinner bait.
