Blah blah blah...back from ten days in Seattle...high temps in the low 70's and lows in the 50's...that was so nice..
Back to work now on big Texoma...heard all the good reports from while I was gone so didn't do any scouting before today's trip...typically I would never come back to work after being gone so long without scouting a day or two but this time I did..
I did not catch 80-100 fish like the reports I had while I was gone but did come back to some pretty good fishing...bait has been easy the last two days early am,way before sun up.
Fish have moved back int the mid lake area finally..had limits of 20 & 30 fish last two days but not rock and roll action...just what I call steady catching.
Been getting some fish off the north island ledge and up on the washita flats...bait fishing last two days drifting most of the time..did set anchor once today and it worked for about 10 fish..I said it before and I'll say it again...this is the best Aug/ late summer fishing that I can remember..fish are still fat and healthy and still pretty aggressive .
I've been getting a mix of gizzard and threadfins shad and hasn't seemed to matter as they are hitting both just fine.
I did hear today fish were still biting up north between the bridges.
Also heard that a late mid morning bite has been good although I haven't seen it myself..guess I'm getting in before the mid day bite starts..too hot anyway to stay out that late...from what I've gathered in the last two days the early bot is good till about 10 am then shuts down for a couple hours and picks back up around noon..but the noon thing is just hearsay

I was napping by noon today
This is the last hurrah for the crowds on most lakes this weekend so everyone be safe...next week the crowds should subside and fall fishing is just around the corner
Tomorrow will be a better test for me as I've got bigger groups and 3 other boats working..so we' ll see if I can do better than just 2-3 man limits
Glad to be home and working again !!!!!
