This place is 2 blocks from where I work. Ranked #2 in Texas Monthly's top Tx.BBQ, for whatever that's worth.
Anybody here tried it?

Been several times, in the past if you got there on Saturday before 10:30 (they open at 11am), you would be one of the first 10-15 in line. I was going to meet some friends there Saturday and we got there at 10:20 and the line was over 100+ already. The BBQ is very good, but I'm not waiting that long for anything.

The trick is to go on a weekday. They are open on Wednesday now too. I get there at 10 and am usually the first in line.
I hate lines too, but PL is worth it to me.

We tried it. waited in line and got "the trough" it is a little bit of everything. The famous beef rib was good but fatty. The brisket also good and probably their best item.. Still a little oversmoked but good. The sausage I didn't care for maybe personal opinion. Pulled pork is quite good and I think under rated. Pork ribs just ok. If you go take your own ice tea and cups. Bring your own bread. Get there at 10 on a week day. Have a member of your party snag a table. Get the trough and enjoy.

If you get the trough you don't have to wait in line next time! For orders over 5 lbs I think it is there is a separate register you can use with little to no wait.

I have been one time and it is over rated for the wait. I say skip it and go to Hard Eights in Coppel, or even SpringCreek is a better BBQ for time spent. IMHO
