Folks,
We went out today and got skunked. Not a single catfish caught in 5 hrs of fishing.
We marked quite a few fish in the same areas tgey have been for last several weeks, but could not manage to get a bite.
The customers did not enjoy the trip and it was very frustrating for me.
Just ketting everyone know it even happens to us guides.

I have respect for a guide that will report a skunk trip. It can happen to anyone.

If people say they catch fish every trip, watch out they may lie about other things also.

Was a bad day for everyone on Waco yesterday. We fished for 6 hours and only managed 1 box fish. The good news is if they didn't bite yesterday they gotta turn on sometime soon. They can't go forever without eating.

My hat comes off for respect in you posting the sad results, especially for a guide. These days happen, hopefully few in number.
But if its any consolation, it was ZIP on Friday & YC (YellowCat) for Saturday & today. Sometimes a YC day can be a tuff one. Plus the Catfish Calendar day can always bleed over into the next, as well as visa-versa (start early).
I think it was like this for all the animals in Waco too, as some of my family was up at the Waco Zoo Saturday morning. The monkeys, except for a baboon or two, stayed out of site (probably inside where the shade was). Mom also noted either a tiger or lion was laying down outside panting so much that his stomach (or lungs) was moving at a tremendous amount due to the heat.
Hopefully it will pass.

Well I'll be.... Why thank you my friend. Thank you for making me feel 100% better about the ONE eater sized kitty that I caught this morning. No other bites were even detected. Never found any shad. Had to sacrifice poor old Mr. carp for bait. I couldn't even get a mosquito to bite.  and here I was feeling bad about the results!
