Anyone know where I can go in OK to try for them? Is now a ok time or not?

I know up around Miami ok is places to fish for them. I think they have the season open year round with barbless hooks. Just google it and I am sure you can find all the info you need.

I've been told by ol' timers that Spoonbills require clean gravel beds to spawn and that they'll leave their regular waters to find these gravel beds during flooding/high water. So, spring would fit the bill for that.(No pun intended.) Good Luck and Great Fishing!

Back in the 80's in Louisiana I caught a 14 lb spoonbill while I was bass fishing. Hooked it about 6 in. in front of the tail. What a fight.

Grand Lake Oklahoma Rusty Prichard! Winter time into spring is best.Rules have recently changed on paddlefish in Ok.Just be sure to check them before you go.Also a few in Red River

Rusty and I start guiding for them in December and is good until around the first of May depending on water flow. Grand and Fort Gibson Lakes are where we both guide. Give me a call if you decide to head this way. It's an absolute blast!
