While heading to the dock this morning after slaying one whole fish, I noticed a guy on a pontoon a ways out waving his hand. He'd nailed a stump off the boat lane. Gave him a tow back to Little Mustang and refused his offer of gas money- Lord knows ill need a tow one day. Question- do the bass fishing "gods" at Fork reward you with a fortune of fish after such a thing, or do they still refuse to bite even when you drop in on their head? Ill echo the obvious of what everybody says- definitely hug the boat lanes when running around.

Good deeds are always rewarded.....but don't expect it to be in bass bucks!

They dance to their own tune!

Here's one that got me two weeks ago my buddies boat starter crapped out on us two miles from the ramp middle of the lake using the trolling motor he's in the back cowl off trying to pull start it with a rope not one person even gave a second look luckily he got it started so we didn't have to wave anyone down. I remember the days when people offered to help someone on the water.

Man that's frustrating. Glad you guys got it cranked back. I won't stop for someone on the highway pulled over- because there's too many ambushes set up, robberies, etc; but I profile, and if someone is on their boat fishing on a lake, its a safe bet and ill def stop to help.

You have to stop and help people on the lake. Always offer help. Always turn down there money. Karma can be BAD or GOOD.

I certainly hope the bad Karma you mentioned hit home for one guy! A couple of years back, I had a motor problem that occurred a couple of miles from the ramp. We had made it about half way back on the trolling motor when two guys in a boat came by so I waved them down and asked for a tow to the ramp.

The guy said "nope - can't do that" and off he sped! Probably a good thing I didn't encounter him on the bank later -- he probably wouldn't have liked what I would have to say!

For my part, I can't count the number of boats I've towed in! Some have offered money, some have offered fishing tips and some not even a "thank you"! Takes all kinds!

Few years ago I towed a guy in during the Randy White tournament then took him to Oak Ridge to get his vehicle. He kept wanting to give me money but I turned him down said I may be in a fix sometime and if he came along he could pay me back. The next year I buried a Rattletrap in my hand I was in Burch Creek and had put in at Oak Ridge. I dropped my side cutters in the water so I went to Oak Ridge with the lake white capping got in and here was the guy and his girlfriend. She just happened to be a rn and between them they got me fixed up when they got don the fellow said I guess you were right things will come around.

It will come back to you. If the big fella always repaid us in bass bucks we'd all be out there helping every old lady across the street, changing every flat tire on the side of the road, walking the neighborhoods looking for cats stuck in trees, etc.

What goes around comes around. A few years ago on McGee Creek my batteries gave out during a tourney. Had the winning sack in the live well. I got towed in by the police chief from a near by town.

Fast forward to last year, I am fishing Hugo lake in another tourney. As I am heading back to the weigh-in and round a bend in the river, guess who is sitting there with a blown lower unit, yup, the police chief. We load his fish into my boat and get him back to the ramp. He won that tourney.

There is something to the Karma thing!,
