TFF'rs - we rented a house on Fork for this weekend, Fri-Mon. The whole family is going, most never fish. I've not fished Fork for Crappie, actually on fished on it three times total. Anyone have any recent reports from there? Tips? Anything is appreciated. I'm just trying to put my niece, nephew, step dad, etc. on a few fish. I prefer crappie, but we'll be trying to catch just about anything.

Thanks in Advance..
Flog

We've been out several times the last week. Yesterday was pretty rough at first, but finally found some massive slabs on timber/brush piles in about 20 feet of water fishing 12 feet down. We were using Lake Fork Baby Shad jigs and Mr. Crappie blue and white Jokers then tipping with a minnow. We've been fishing everywhere from between the 515 bridge to below Williams but not all the way to the dam.

We usually have good luck in those same areas with catfish on frozen shad.

Good luck and have fun!

I'm renting a hotel on Fork Sunday and will be trying my first hand at Fork crappie fishing as well. Going to try the bridge (is 515 the best?) and gonna hit standing timber at different depths until we find some. Does anyone know if a particular area of the lake (closer to the damn, upper end, a certain cove, etc) is better for crappie this time of year? Going to try with minnows and switch to jigs if we find em'. Good luck to you flogORfish.

We were on a boat. We have never had any luck with bridge fishing so I can't tell you for sure but there are always boats around all the bridges so someone must be catching them there.

Here's the ones we caught yesterday. All the crappie came off one tree just south of the 515 bridge in 18 feet of water.

We use the Magic Shad color.

We were back out yesterday and just couldn't find them. Got one crappie on a brush pile in 18 feet and a sand bass. You just never know what to expect out there! bang
