It's been about two weeks since I was able to get out on the water. I was reading all the posts of how hard it has been and how the dog days of summer are here. Well they are and were, for me at least. I only boated two, and missed about a dozen. I threw all the slabs from moes i own in multiple sizes, tried burning them, slow rolling them, tried the mepps fast and slow, and tried a coca moe 4". Nothing! i don't think i could bring myself to troll for them, just not that much fun imo. I think I had my drag set to much or I was ripping some lips off. Worst part of the whole night was at the end. Hooked up with a big something, fought it for an hour and it shook it head and got off a few feet from the boat . That was 9 pm when it got off so I never even got a chance to see it. Probably a big cat by the way it was fighting. Anyways it was good to get on the water and see Roy and fishboy out there.

Coach it was definitely a struggle. If it wasn't for that "accidental" black bass you saw me catch the night would have been a wash. Well I take that back I caught a kitty on a slab also. Strange when you catch a BB and a kitty on a slab. I had a carp hooked and only got one scale on my hook to prove it! It reminds me of the words from that song, "Momma told me there'd be days like this..." Momma in this case being Mother Hubbard. Roy and JT and I resorted to talking about how that before long we will be out there bundled up pounding and dead-sticking! Bring it on. Anything beats this heat. BTW we ended up with about five sandies. Good seeing you out there....

I'm going to give it a try Sunday and Monday. We have been catching more fish off the dock lately. Hope it picks up.

Went out a couple days ago from about 11:30-1:30pm. Caught about 17 and then this momma bear hooked on! Those are always fun! I need a new net!
I do enjoy a good Squirt now and then.

Hey I like your new signature pic VIP. Got a four day weekend. Will b out tomorrow morning and may have to resort to dynamite fishing. Haven't been on the home lake in four weeks. Then off to Houston to visit family.

Well, I feel a little better after reading the above posts. I was out there yesterday, too, & came away skunked. Ready for cooler weather.

At what point do the Dalrock ramps become unusable? I do not fish Hubbard much in the fall but have been wondering about this with no rain in forecast.

I went out yesterday evening 8/28 with a buddy on mine. Got on the water at 4:30pm. Checked several spots with the graph, and marked some scattered fish on deep humps. Tried slabbing for them at a couple spots. After several failed attempts at different spots we eventually gave up, and decided to look for largemouths instead. Glad we did too, because we managed to catch several off the rocks. Biggest bass went 3.8# on a jig. Caught two cats too.
It's been almost a month since I've had any luck catching whites on Ole Mother Hub. I only saw 1 school pop up down by the dam, and they didn't even stay up for a full minute.
